June 26, CareFor EAP successfully organized the second session on "Neuroscience in Emotion Control & Behavior Change" for the CareFor Connect community. The session was facilitated by Ms. Thi Phan, a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology and Executive Director of CareFor EAP.
Program content include:
1️⃣ Exploring Brain Psychology: Understanding how the brain works and how it affects psychology and emotions. This is the foundational step towards managing emotions and changing behavior.
2️⃣ Managing Emotions with Brain Psychology: Ms. Thi Phan presented therapies that help manage emotions more effectively by understanding the functioning of the brain's nervous systems.
3️⃣ Behavior Change from a Brain Psychology Perspective: This is the most crucial part of the program. The first step of change is recognizing the need for change. This process is driven by creating meaning for the change with four noble purposes:
➡️ Exploration: Learning and discovering new aspects of oneself.
➡️ Excellence: Striving to become better and more perfect in various areas.
➡️ Compassion: Showing care and support to those around.
➡️ Heroism: Being able to make an impact and create significant value for society.
Behavior change extends beyond the individual and requires organizational factors. To create a state of flow, the following elements need to be combined:
⏺️ Individual Factors: Noble purpose, professional expertise, moderate anxiety
⏺️ Organizational Factors: New challenges, delegation, urgency
CareFor EAP hopes that the knowledge shared in this session has helped participants understand better how to control emotions and change behavior from a neuroscience perspective.
The session is held monthly on the fourth Wednesday, focusing on applied Human Resource Psychology topics specifically for the CareFor Connect community (NON-PROFIT):
