On May 22, CareFor EAP successfully held the first session on "Application of Human Resource Psychology in Organizational Development" for the CareFor Connect community. The session was facilitated by Ms. Thi Phan, a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology and the Managing Director of CareFor EAP.
One of the most important topics covered in the session was building a resilient organization. Building a resilient organization not only helps businesses cope with current challenges but also lays a solid foundation for sustainable growth in the future.
Four characteristics of a resilient organization include:
Foresight: The ability to predict and prepare for future challenges.
Hindsight: Learning from past experiences and mistakes to improve performance.
Insight: Understanding the root causes of problems to provide appropriate solutions.
Oversight: Monitoring and adjusting strategies to ensure they are effectively implemented.
To foster organizational resilience, Ms. Thi Phan shared Dr. Harry Barry's (2018) 4A model, which includes:
Assessment: Evaluating the current situation and identifying areas for improvement
Ability: Building and developing the necessary skills to cope with challenges
Attitude: Cultivating a positive and determined attitude in work
Action: Applying learned knowledge and skills in practice
Ms. Thi also guided the application of this model to address real-life case studies within businesses, helping attendees practice and implement the 4A model effectively in their organizations.
Some methods shared in the session to build resilience in the workplace include:
Wellness Talks: Sessions on mental and physical health.
Resilience Training: Training on developing personal and organizational resilience.
Resilience Culture: Building a resilient culture in the workplace.
EAP (Employee Assistance Program): Providing counseling and support to employees when needed.
CareFor EAP hopes the knowledge shared in this session helped attendees understand more about Human Resource Psychology and how to apply psychological techniques to build a strong, resilient organization in the face of future challenges.
The session is held monthly on the fourth Wednesday, focusing on applied Human Resource Psychology topics specifically for the CareFor Connect community (NON-PROFIT):
